Features

Some of the many design features that make Bartholomew Guitars different.

Structured Sides

The guitars sides are often overlooked despite forming the frame upon which the soundboard and back vibrate. In a standard guitar, sides are bent from one piece of 2mm or thinner material. The sides of my guitars are built from three layers: an inner and outer side plus a kerfed central layer. This construction is incredibly stiff compared to a standard side, ensuring minimal loss of sound energy to movement of the sides. This contributes to the creation of a responsive instrument with fantastic sustain.

Carbon Reinforced Neck

Each of my Honduran Mahogany necks are reinforced with Epoxy Graphite rods alongside the dual action truss rod. Increasing the stiffness of the neck but without adding weight further conserves the vibrational energy in the guitar while keeping the neck stable through changing humidities.

Low Profile Heel

My low profile heel shape ensures maximum access to the upper frets, improving comfort at the high frets with or without a cutaway.

Florentine Cutaway

For those that enjoy exploring the upper end of the fretboard, my deep florentine cutaway gives virtually unobstructed access to every fret.

Wide Saddle

For optimum energy transfer and accurate intonation, My guitars all feature an extra wide 5mm bone saddle paired with individually fit, unslotted bridge pins.
